Fushigi Yuugi OVA 2

Based on chapters 78 to 145 of the manga, the Fushigi Yuugi OVA 2 is the true continuation of the TV series.

The OVA 2 consist of six 26 minutes episodes, and was produced by Studio Pierrot and released by Bandai Visual on laserdisc and VHS on May 25, 1997. Like the preceding TV series and OVA1 it was directed by Kamegaki Hajime.

While the TV series covers 77 chapters of the manga in 52 episodes, the OVA2 condenses 29 chapters is just six episodes. Sadly this means that some important scenes are barely covered or are completely removed.

The Plot

It's been eight months since Tamahome is reborn outside the book as Taka, however he doesn't remember anything from his life as Tamahome. After being lured into a trap by Tenkou, Miaka and Taka are saved by Suzaku, who brings them inside the Universe of the Four Gods. There, they meet Tasuki and Chichiri again, but Taka doen't remember them until Chichiri gives him two spheres containing part of his memories. Miaka, Tatsuki and Chichiri must help Taka gather the rest of the seven spheres to have all of his memories back and stop Tenkou from from destroying the world.

The Omake

Following each installment, there is an omake called Fushigi Akugi (ふしぎ悪戯 / Mysterious Prank) featuring several outtakes from the episode. They are short parodies of dramatic scenes in the episode, sort of like bloopers that are shown after some movies.
